Expanding their Sydney-based Three Blue Ducks brand into Brisbane for the first time, the team behind Byron Bay’s hugely popular foodie hotspot The Farm, delivers an easy-going restaurant that’s approachable to all.
As the dedicated eatery for the W Brisbane hotel, the bright and airy venue with natural timber tones and a relaxed vibe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Despite the menus changing throughout the day, what remains is the effortless approach to the food, cooking up home-style dishes that speak of chilled Aussie summers by the barbecue or lazy brunches on the back deck.
What elevates the menus above standard home cooking, though, is the quality of the produce, with the best of local ingredients carefully treated to ensure they shine. Take perhaps Moreton Bay bugs lacquered with XO butter accompanied by charry, wilted cavolo nero, or perhaps a slow-cooked lamb shoulder, achingly tender, with peas, zucchini and squash and zinged up with a lemon dressing.

Desserts are equally simple and understated like a meringue with berries, yoghurt ice cream, lemon curd and macadamia crunch.
Service varies from excellent to average, depending on the waitstaff, but the view is almost enough to forgive any misgivings. Through floor to ceiling glass, guests are treated to a vista across the Brisbane River to South Bank and West End, bringing with it a sense of calm and awe.
