Bar H combines aspects of Chinese and Japanese cuisine with Australian ingredients to produce a memorable dining experience.
Bar H lies perched on an unassuming little corner of Surry Hills and has been quietly carving out a niche in pan-Asian cuisine for the past six years.
So while it could be easy to miss walking past, it’s worth taking yourself over the threshold to experience the smart inner city diner.
Run by husband and wife team Hamish Ingham, who serves as chef, and sommelier Rebecca Lines, they’ve paired up the best of their wares to create food that takes cues from Chinese and Japanese cuisine (with native Australian ingredients thrown in the mix) and an excellent wine, cocktail and spirit list.
There’s a pleasing precision to the offering at Bar H and they’ve designed the menu to showcase seasonal, sustainable produce.
Must eat: Crisp saltbush and chilli
