Dining locations don’t get much better than this. Planted right on the beach at Noosa’s Laguna Bay, Bistro C presents a panoramic vista of golden sand, azure sea and the national park headland beyond. Open from breakfast to dinner daily, a seat on the patio during daylight allows you to appreciate the view, but sunset is truly the golden hour to set the mood for a drink and share plate. Food here is simple, fast and fresh, with a focus on seafood and accessible crowd-pleasers.
For breakfast, think corn and chive fritters with grilled bacon and avocado salsa, lunch calls for a prawn and spanner crab tostada and your afternoon session requires a plate of Coffin Bay oysters and coconut chicken salad alongside an obligatory cocktail. The ginger, mint and aloe cactus cooler is the perfect pick-me-up after a day on the sand or indulge in one of the bar’s original spins on an espresso martini.
If you’re dining by moonlight, start with shaved duck breast atop a broccolini and pickled bamboo salad before feasting on an eye fillet, caramelised pork belly or pan of spaghetti bursting with bugs, prawns, mussels, fish, squid and scallops. Banoffee cheesecake rounds out the meal nicely. Service can be hit or miss during peak times, but efficiency of meals is always achieved.
Exceptional dish: Shaved duck breast with green onion, radish, baby cucumber, sesame broccolini and pickled bamboo salad, xiao xing plum glaze and wonton crisps
