59. Black Hide by Gambaro at Treasury, Brisbane CBD

The restaurant

Three interlinked, sumptuously fitted-out rooms in the heritage-listed Treasury Brisbane casino, complete with the original timber doors and elegant arched window frames, provide the backdrop to this beef wonderland.

A glass display case of aged beef lines creates a feature wall near the entry, and long, slinky drapes are pulled back to reveal views across to South Bank.

The steaks come courtesy of the Stanbroke Pastoral Company with the cuts repertoire running to wagyu eye fillet and sirloin with a marble scores of nine-plus, a swag with five-plus as well as various Angus options with a three-plus score, including a feature 1200g tomahawk steak and dry-aged choices.

Non-beef fanciers need not worry, there’s fish of the day, lobster, Moreton Bay bugs or goat’s cheese tortellini.

The extensive wine list has a strong red focus.

Exceptional dish: 1200g Angus Tomahawk to share
