Tucked into an 80s-style arcade with caramel and beige tiled floors and large timber tables lined with white paper, there’s certainly nothing pretentious about this beach-facing Italian hotspot.
Instead, the bustling, two-story venue has become the hip hangout for Gold Coast locals looking for top-notch pizza and pasta in a relaxed setting that won’t break the bank. Oh, and did we mention the rooftop bar?
The diverse range of pizza follows tradition, focusing on a minimal number of premium ingredients to top the 48 hour-fermented sourdough bases. Highlights are the classic margherita or the sugo-heavy pork and fennel meatball, pepped up with just a hint of chilli on a lightly charred, crisp crust.
Nonna would approve of the carbonara, too, elevated with an abundance of speck. While an unexpected standout is the honey-roasted butternut pumpkin in a soupy goat’s cheese sauce with toasted hazelnuts for crunch.
Casual and friendly staff ensure food arrives without fuss, while a compact but smart, Italian-centric wine list is well matched to the menu.
Delivering dinner for two for under $80, this is a venue most would be happy to call a regular.
