By day, it’s the sun-drenched outdoor tables you want to snare at this contemporary pan-Asian eatery, but by night, book a seat inside alongside the bustling open kitchen to feel like you’re really part of the action.

Once guests get through the rather aloof maitre d’, staff are friendly and clearly know their stuff, assisting patrons through the expansive, share-style menu of small and large plates, dumplings and buns.

There are also two banquets and an option to let the restaurant choose if the decision is too much. Start light with the stellar sous vide ocean trout, fired up by a Korean red sauce and cooled down again by a nori mayo, or go slightly heavier with their East-meets-West signature ravioli dumplings — envelopes of sweet spanner crab in a complex coconut seafood bisque.

One of around half a dozen vegetarian offerings is the hot and sweet eggplant and zucchini, the vegetables battered and fried, rendering the exterior crisp and inside supple with chilli bean sauce for bite.

The drinks list is even broader than the food, pouring popular as well as more interesting international wines, alongside Asian-inspired cocktails, sake, Japanese beer, whisky flights and more.

Just don’t leave without ordering the dense and fudgy chocolate brownie for dessert with caramelised condensed milk ice cream and a garden of complementary textual elements.
