Nomad, Surry Hills, Sydney review (2016)

Nomad

Nomad combines serious food with a precise and considered wine list whilst remaining down-to-earth and a true Surry Hills mainstay.

Serious style sets Nomad apart, with the cellar-door venue managing to balance serious food cred and a carefully considered wine list with none of the stuffiness that restaurants of its calibre typically serve up.

A long-time favourite in foodie hub Surry Hills, Nomad’s share plates, including zucchini flowers, wagyu tartare and an unforgettable charcuterie board, are best enjoyed over a lengthy and loud conversation with a big group at one of the restaurant’s longer tables.

An all-Australian wine list traverses the usual suspects, as well as offering some more left-field options that let Nomad fans buy from the online store and the annexed bottle shop.
