With its soaring ceilings, yellow and blue colour palette, and uninterrupted water views from the banks of the Brisbane River, OTTO channels all the glamour of the Italian Riviera.
Positioned to capture the striking vista, which also includes the cityscape and theatre of an open kitchen, the up-market Italian restaurant is a place that just feels good to relax into.
Professional, charismatic staff are keen to start diners off with a signature cocktail or glass of wine from the tome-like, European-centric list designed for the well-heeled; before menus even make their way to the table. But when they do, guests will find a tight, authentic Italian offering with a sophisticated twist.
Raw kingfish is just right to begin, splashed in olive oil and showered with pearls of finger lime and a dusting of chilli, before for the venue’s signature champagne lobster spaghettini available as an entree or main. The generous twirl of pasta and crustacean in a plate-scraping butter sauce epitomises the entire venue – understated luxury.
Desserts continue the theme of simple elegance with fresh figs topping a dulce de leche cream, with crumbled pistachios and a crisp, clean coconut sorbet. For the cashed-up, this is a restaurant made to impress.
