Otto, Woolloomooloo, Sydney review (2016)

otto

Otto, although not pushing any boundaries, continues to serve up well done fresh seafood and pasta in a waterfront position.

The days of the long business lunch that morphed into dinner are long gone, but if you want to relive those halcyon times then Woolloomoolloo’s Finger Wharf is definitely the place to do it.

It doesn’t have the glitz of the harbour but the low-key setting is perfect for brokering big business deals away from prying eyes.

Otto is a stayer in the Sydney restaurant scene, launched by a consortium which included Icebergs’ Maurice Terzini. John Laws had a permanent table for years and it’s now owned by the Fink group, which also has Quay and Firedoor.

The menu isn’t pushing any boundaries but it’s solidly done, fresh seafood and handmade pasta made all the better for being eaten at a zjooshy spot near the water.

Must eat: Lobster spaghetti
