Boutique beach getaway Halcyon House is one of the hottest hotel openings in years with insta-pics of the Palm Springs-esque arched windows and everything by interiors queen Anna Spiro almost as #iconic as the place itself.
But there’s substance, too, with former Esquire chef Ben Devlin serving a sophisticated coastal inspired three or four course menu.
One hopes the delicate noodle dish of poached squid with shiitake juice and wilted greens doesn’t go anywhere. It’s sweet and sour, fermented and funky.
And the paperbark grilled fish has evolved into the must eat dish, all smoky, sweet and succulent with slowed cooked onion and seaweed.
