Pazar Food Collective, Canterbury, Sydney review (2016)

Sydney6

Former police officer-turned-chef Attila Yilmaz has taken the Sydney food scene by storm with his unique twist on Mexican and Middle Eastern cuisine.

How does a former police officer become the unofficial king of middle eastern/Mexican food in Canterbury?

We’re not quite sure but we’re glad Attila Yilmaz made the decision to open Pazar Food Collective because it’s become one of Sydney food’s best kept secrets.

The communal space is packed to the rafters most nights with Yilmaz and his crew churning out sensational dishes like fresh Turkish bread with smoked labneh and toasted sesame pepita chilli salsa, or sweet ceviche scallops with cucumber and avocado in a sharp lime and tequila verde.

Then there are wood-fired meats like a generous lamb shoulder accompanied by pickled chillies.

Must eat: Wood-fired lamb
