Our furry friends can now experience the finer side of dining.
Considering Australia’s love for both brunch and pets, it makes sense that the two passions have collided with the emergence of the first doggy degustation.
The canine-specific menu is available at two Sydney venues that wish to pamper your pooch while you indulge in your own breakfast. The brunch menus – welcomed at the Centennial Homestead and Queens Park Shed – will see dogs indulged with free dining options on Saturdays and Sundays until July 2. The doggy menu comes courtesy of Pet nutrition company K9 Natural and is titled ‘Bone Appetit’.
K9 Natural CEO Neil Hinton believes the doggy degustation should prove to owners that their pets deserve quality cuisine. “We want dog owners to think more about the quality of the food they feed their pets – making healthy choices is equally as important when it comes to our four-legged friends,” he says. “Bone Appetit is such a fun initiative, where we get to combine our passion for dogs and food. We are all very excited to be serving up some nutritious meals over the next few weekends to our customers’ canine companions.”
Pooches can expect nothing short of the best when it comes to their meals, with menu items including a Beef Feast (grass-fed beef with eggs, kelp, flaxseed, fruit, vegetables and New Zealand green-lipped mussel), Lamb Feast (grass-fed lamb with eggs, kelp, flaxseed, fruit, vegetables and New Zealand green-lipped mussel) and Lamb Green Tripe Super Food (100 per cent grass-fed lamb green tripe packed with protein and natural probiotics).
This isn’t the first time that pets have been able to indulge in the finer side of dining, with American company Apollo Peak recently launching a line of non-alcoholic wines for cats and dogs that includes The Catbernet and The Chardognay.
