Long-standing New York oyster bar The Mermaid Inn has launched the app to help oyster-lovers like yourselves identify different oysters and their unique flavours. When is an oyster not (just) an oyster? When it’s a Dosewallips oyster from Washington State National Park, that’s when.

The app, which also allows you to rate your favourites, is only available for iPhone now, but an Android version is on its way.
