Depends on the produce. I love a good roadside farm stand nearly anywhere, but in NYC, I love Union Square Farmers Market.

Txikito, a Basque restaurant in Chelsea serving dishes such as squid with pine nuts.

Favourite Sunday brunch?

A classic American breakfast of biscuits and gravy at The Brooklyn Star or eggs Benedict with a ‘bloody bullshot’ at Prune.

The local I couldn’t live without is… 

The Godfather sandwich at Graham Ave. Meats & Deli in Brooklyn.

Caffeine fix?

Gimme! in NYC.

Best place for bread?

Roberta’s in Brooklyn. They make it overnight in outdoor woodfired ovens. Super crusty, super sourdough, just super.

The best seafood?

Has to be the plateaux de fruits de mer at Balthazar in SoHo.

Top bar?

My longtime favourite place to grab a drink early in the evening or late at night is PDT in NYC.

Most memorable dinner?

A mindblowing meal in Abu Dhabi at Angar. The butter chicken changed my life.

Best place for cheese?

Bedford Cheese Shop in Brooklyn or Murray’s Cheese in NYC.

Recent foodie discovery?

St. Anselm Steakhouse in Brooklyn. The meat is grilled to order – so simple yet so good.

The foodie experience that’s the best to impress?

wd~50 in NYC. Each and every time, get the tasting menu.

Best off the beaten track?

Street food at Sukhumvit 38 night markets in Bangkok, Thailand. Try the spicy drunken noodles.
