Bring a nicer touch to your breakfast menu with fruit skewers on top of granola. It's a simple way to dress up a muesli bowl and tastes great.

Ingredients (11)

  • 4 peaches, halved, stones removed
  • 4 plums, halved, stones removed
  • 1/4 cup (90g) honey
  • Lemon balm leaves and thick Greek-style yoghurt, to serve

Apple and cinnamon granola

  • 2 cups (180g) rolled oats
  • 1 cup (150g) hazelnuts
  • 1 cup (100g) hazelnut meal
  • 2/3 cup (200g) apple sauce
  • 2 tbs honey
  • 2 tbs sunflower oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Method

  • 1.
    For the granola, combine all ingredients in a bowl. Heat a large frypan over medium-high heat.
  • 2.
    Add the granola mixture and cook, stirring frequently, for 12 minutes or until golden and toasted.
  • 3.
    Remove from heat. Set aside to cool.
  • 4.
    Meanwhile, heat a chargrill pan or barbecue to medium-high heat.
  • 5.
    Thread two fruit halves onto each skewer.
  • 6.
    Brush fruit pieces with the honey, then grill, turning and brushing with the honey, for 4-5 minutes until fruit is charred and slightly softened but not collapsing.
  • 7.
    Serve the skewers with the granola, lemon balm leaves and yoghurt.
