Upcycle leftover dried fruit into these sweet bites for a kid-friendly snack with a chia protein hit.

Ingredients (5)

  • 200g medjool dates, pitted
  • 300g dried fruit (we used apples, figs, apricots, cranberries and currants)
  • 2 tbs white chia seeds, plus extra to serve
  • 2 tbs runny honey (we used Woolworths Select)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom (optional)

Don't forget you can add these ingredients to your Woolworths shopping list.

Method

  • 1.
    Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  • 2.
    Whiz all ingredients, including cardamom, if using, in a food processor until finely chopped. With wet hands, roll 1 tbs mixture into a ball. Place on prepared tray. Repeat with remaining mixture.
  • 3.
    Chill balls for 30 minutes or until firm, then scatter with extra chia seeds. Store chilled, in an airtight container, for up to 1 month.
