Golden syrup banana and blueberry bread

Ingredients (14)
- 1 1/2 cups plain flour
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1 tsp mixed spice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large over-ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup golden syrup, plus extra to serve
- 50g butter, melted, cooled
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 3/4 cup frozen blueberries
- 2 tbs quick-cook oats
- Butter, softened (optional), to serve

1.Preheat oven to 180C. Grease a 14cm x 21cm loaf pan. Line base and sides with baking paper, extending paper 2cm above all sides.

2.Sift flours, bicarb, mixed spice and cinnamon in a large bowl and stir in sugar. Make a well. Add banana, milk, golden syrup, butter and eggs and stir until just combined. Fold in blueberries. Spoon mixture into prepared pan. Scatter with oats.

3.Bake for 1 hour-1 hour 10 minutes or until golden and a skewer inserted in centre of loaf comes out clean. Stand for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve with butter and drizzled with extra golden syrup.
