One Penny Red, Summer Hill, Sydney review (2016)

One Penny Red, Summer Hill.

Providing inner west locals with a sophisticated dining option, One Penny Red combines seasonal dishes with a cracking wine list to great results.

Opened in 2014 to a rapturous reception from inner west locals desperately in need of a sophisticated dining option, One Penny Red continues to delight with excellent, seasonal dishes and a cracking wine list.

Head chef RJ Lines churns out an ever-changing menu with fixtures like roasted Skull Island tiger prawns with bisque butter and a Thirlmere goose liver pate with a house-made olive oil loaf. Bigger dishes include a sensational slow-roasted lamb shoulder with a chick pea puree.

There’s also an upstairs cocktail bar — Vernon’s.

Must eat: Roast tiger prawns
