Cumulus Inc

Good luck finding a more hip Melbourne go-to than Cumulus Inc.

It’s got you covered from dawn to dusk, for breakfast meetings, power lunches, Tinder dates, a post-show tipple and solo dining, in fact any kind of occasion you can throw at it.

Start the day right with fluffy house-made crumpets soaked in rooftop honey or shakshouka with Persian feta, while lunch could be the delightful calamari and radish salad powered by a spicy, tangy and meaty nduja dressing, over a Yarra Valley pinot gris.

Come evening, the lights dip to give the industrial Pascale Gomes-McNabb-designed space a moody vibe. Perch at the kitchen bar for a bird’s eye view of your dinner, be it a succulent half-chook with fried Jerusalem artichokes or sliced O’Connor sirloin. For dessert, dip into a divinely silky nutmeg tart or the signature madeleine, $3 wonders cooked to order and oozing tart lemon curd. It’s no wonder Proust was so stuck on them.

Staff are well versed in the ever-changing menu, so feel free to hand over the ordering reins. This is an all-purpose hotspot that hums from first coffee to last drinks.
