Magdalena Roze
TV presenter, journalist and delicious.com.au contributor
Magdalena Roze is one of Australia’s most versatile talents, combining her expertise in weather and journalism with her passion for food, sustainability and lifestyle.
Magdalena is a passionate foodie and lifestyle guru, recently combining her passions for climate and food as part of the team behind Earth Hour’s cookbook Planet to Plate. Respected for her knowledge and love of food and lifestyle, she regularly hosts food events with chefs including Heston Blumenthal, Massimo Bottura and Peter Gilmore. In late 2014, she launched her own website exploring food, travel, beauty, fashion and wellbeing – through a weather of lens, of course.
When the opportunity arose for the Three Blue Ducks to open a restaurant and produce store on a farm in Byron Bay, Magdalena Roze and her partner, Darren Robertson, jumped at the chance to be part of a project that would hopefully change the way people eat and think about food. Three Blue Ducks in Byron Bay is committed to ethical, spray-free produce and sustainability, and utilises as much produce as possible that’s grown on the farm itself, as well as drawing on a network of dozens of farmers within a 400km radius for everything else. The tree and sea change has given Magdalena the freedom to re-ignite her passions for food, travel and lifestyle, and given them both the opportunity to take food beyond the palate and plate, and to educate and connect people with what they’re eating.
Her recent ‘sea-change’ to Byron Bay has given Mags a whole new appreciation for the environment and what living with a closer connection to the planet actually means. If there is a way Mags can make and do these things herself – from pickling vegetables to making flower head wreaths – then she’ll try it.
