Brothers Daniel and Luke Mancuso turned to their local community for support after being struck by an unimaginable family tragedy. Their next-door neighbour, a kindly yiayia, began to cook them hearty home-cooked meals at a time when they needed it the most. After sharing these interactions on social media, the trio soon went viral, prompting a cookbook from all three packed with the same recipes that pulled the brothers out of the depths of their grief and into the safe arms of their loving surrounds. The book is part of the Yiayia Next Door initiative, hoping to raise awareness around domestic violence and foster kindness and community connection.
