Born in London, Ian moved to Australia in 1971 and has since found success as a chef, television presenter and author of many recipe books. Before finding a career in food, he was a journalist.

His cooking show, Consuming Passions, which was 450 five-minute programs, appeared on ABC in Australia and in many other countries.

In 2011, Ian was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for service to the food and tourism industries.

He’s been the festival director of the renowned food and wine event, Tasting Australia, in Adelaide.
