What do you get when you pair two Australian wine gurus with an internationally acclaimed chef? A delicious. dining experience!
Get out the vintage crockery, iconic Australian wine label Orlando has teamed up with internationally renowned chef Guy Turland to create the ultimate 70s dinner party menu.
The Australiana Nostalgia menu features three retro recipes paired with three Orlando wines for a nostalgic taste of the good old days.
The special menu celebrates the relaunch of Orlando, which has spilled back onto the drinks scene with two new wine ranges. The Legends range captures all that is great about Australian classic wines, while New Heroes celebrates a new era of next-gen drops.

The special food and wine matched menu features some of the greatest hits of the decade (and not a jelly mould in sight). For hors d’oeuvres, Guy Turland has elevated the mushroom vol-au-vent with a reggiano and black truffle infusion and toasted walnuts. To match, Orlando winemaker Ben Thomas has paired it with a bright and citrussy Orlando Hilary Adelaide Hills Chardonnay.
For the main course, Turland serves up a staple of the seventies – apricot chicken – which pairs nicely with the red fruit and cherry flavours of Orlando Cellar 13 Barossa Valley Grenache.
To finish, the full-bodied distinctive liquorice notes of the Orlando Lawson’s Padthaway Shiraz goes down a treat with Turland’s remastered after dinner mint slice.

“I fondly remember my Mum preparing dishes like these in my childhood, then staying up late to snaffle an after-dinner mint. So it has been great fun to relive those memories with Guy developing this nostalgic menu and matching it to me wines,” Orlando winemaker Ben Thomas said.
