Can’t decide whether to go out or stay in?

Igloos have popped up at four venues in Melbourne, offering the perfect compromise between going out and staying in.

The wintry snow globes have landed at the Auburn Hotel in Hawthorn, the waterside Wharf Hotel in Docklands, Footscray’s the Station Hotel and Studley Park Boathouse in Kew.

Channeling a winter wonderland, each dome has been kitted out with twinkling fairy lights and cosy rugs and cushions.

Each venue has its own special menu. At The Wharf Hotel, you can tuck into a shared platter of olives, dips and oozy baked brie with a hot toddy to keep your mitts warm. At The Station Hotel, they’re offering a three-course set menu, with options like Cape Grim scotch fillet with Bearnaise sauce or a truffle wagyu tartare, with sticky date pudding for dessert.

At Studley Park Boathouse, choose from unlimited tea or coffee or warm yourself up from the inside with bottomless spritz and mimosa. No need to venture out into the cold, you can order additional drinks straight to your igloo using the Australian Venue Co app.

Igloos can be booked for 1.5 – 2.5 hours per group (from 2 – 8 people) with prices ranging from $52-75 depending on the venue. For more details or to make a booking, head to the Auburn HotelWharf HotelStation Hotel and Studley Park Boathouse websites.
