But all adults must live within the same LGA and be fully vaccinated.
As promised, Gladys Berejiklian has delivered a number of new freedoms to fully vaccinated Sydneysiders in lockdown.
From September 13, up to five people (including children) will be permitted to gather outdoors, provided they do not live in an LGA of concern and all adults are fully vaccinated. The gathering must occur within their LGA or within 5km from home.
“We know people coming together is what people miss the most. From the various options we looked at, that was the option that met the mental health needs and wellbeing of our community, but also provided the lowest-risk setting,” Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.
In the LGAs of concern, households can enjoy an additional hour of recreation outside, provided all adults taking part are fully vaccinated. This is in addition to the one hour permitted for exercise. The recreation must take place within curfew hours and within 5km of home.
Additional freedoms will also hit Sydneysiders from this coming Monday, August 30. Small funeral services will be permitted in LGAs of concern, attending a house inspection will be considered a reasonable excuse to leave the home, and residents living alone will be able to change up their nominated visitor.
This comes despite a new Covid-19 record for NSW, with 1029 cases and three deaths recorded.
More to come.
