It is the ultimate date night: dinner at one of Melbourne’s most cutting-edge restaurants followed by a night at one of the city’s most historic hotels.

As part of American Express delicious. Month Out, patrons who dine at Sunda restaurant on a Wednesday or Thursday night can sleep off the food coma at The Windsor Hotel for just $60 more.

Diners can choose from two Sunda tasting menus, the Sunda Classics ($98), which includes the restaurant’s greatest hits, and the Sunda Experience ($168), which features a line-up of new and experimental dishes.

The restaurant melds South East Asian cuisine with indigenous Australian ingredients, with famous dishes like the Otak Otak spanner crab curry and gado gado with crudites.

Once you’ve finished your degustation, head upstairs for a luxury experience at the five-star Windsor Hotel, which includes valet parking.

Sunda head chef Khanh Nguyen says American Express delicious. Month Out offers people the chance to rediscover the CBD in the most delicious way.

“It’s a good excuse to visit the city and to see their favourite restaurants are there and ready to welcome them,” he said. “The city is coming back to life, but in winter most restaurants get quiet and so will need the support of diners and customers. Without that support we’ll lose our favourite restaurants.”

It’s one of more than 200 dining experiences and exclusive offers as part of the delicious. Month Out in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane throughout May.

With a glitzy event at new hot spot W Hotel already sold out mid-May, revellers can still choose from a range of new ways to enjoy eating out for the whole month — in many cases with significantly less of a strain on the wallet.

From a complimentary glass of wine offered with a meal at Park Street Pasta in South Melbourne to a half dozen oysters and a glass of champagne for $30 at Scott Pickett’s Chancery Lane in the CBD, or $21 steak night Mondays and $21 roast chicken on Tuesdays at Andrew McConnell’s Builders Arms Hotel, there are great dining deals to devour around town.
