Venture through an unassuming doorway into the grand 1920s building on the corner of Flinders and Hosier Lanes to discover one of Melbourne’s favourite small bars. Andrew McConnell’s Apollo Inn brings a little European-style finesse to its corner of the city.

Taking its cues from the timeless cocktail bars of Europe, Apollo Inn is an ode to the ageless art of the cocktail. Its name references one of Melbourne’s first public houses that once stood on the site of its neighbour, Andrew McConnell’s acclaimed Gimlet at Cavendish House. The cocktail list features old-world classics with new-world sensibility, as well as a considered bar menu to accompany the drinks.
