Just in time for Mother's Day.
Aldi has upgraded its liquor cabinets to include a new colour-changing gin from Adelaide’s 23rd Street Distillery.
The Violet Gin will hit shelves on Wednesday, May 3 just in time for Mother’s Day.
Described by the distillery as the “mood ring of beverages”, the gin changes colour from blue to a light pink/purple when a tonic or mixer is added.
The tipple is made from a pure sugarcane spirit, distilled with juniper berries and five Australian botanicals, including lemon myrtle, cinnamon myrtle, finger lime, pepper berry and native wattle seed. Sippers can expect an intriguing mix of lingering zest and peppery spice on the palate.
“We wanted to create a gin with some added theatre, in a time where people are looking for some fun, the flair of Violet Gin provides a great choice for the novice at-home mixologist,” says 23rd Street Distillery’s assistant brand manager, Gabrielle Millane.
Violet Gin (200ml) is available from Aldi supermarkets from May 3, 2022 for $16.99.
