Is this Australia’s most affordable 25 year old single malt scotch whisky?

Glen Marnoch.

Fill up the ice cube tray. The new 25YO Glen Marnoch costs less than a $100 and it hits shelves next week.

No need to splash out this World Whisky Day.  You can now get your hands on a 25-year-old single malt scotch whisky for just $99.99. To put that into perspective, the second cheapest bottle of 25YO whisky we could find was twice that at $199.

The Glen Marnoch 25YO Scotch Whisky is distilled in the Scottish Highlands and aged in American oak casks for 25 years. The expression is said to have aromas of crisp green apple and notes of green fruit, oak tannin and vanilla spice on the palate.

Glen Marnoch also sells a Highland Single Malt Sherry Cask Scotch Whisky for just $42.99 a bottle. The single malt was awarded a gold medal in the prestigious International Wine and Spirit Competition last year.

Why so cheap? Turns out, Glen Marnoch doesn’t have its own distillery. Rather, the whisky is believed to have been purchased from another distillery and rebranded. Glen Marnoch has gone on to win several awards and it has also received fairly positive reviews from critics, with many calling it a great buy for the price.

Glen Marnoch 25YO Highlands Single Malt Scotch Whisky is priced at $99.99 for a 700ml bottle. It goes on sale on May 13, 2020, as part of the ALDI special buys.
