The next-gen of gin is here.

When will the gin boom end? Never! The ginaissance continues with gin liqueurs, a new generation of sweet, cordial-like gins made for spritz cocktails and light, refreshing highballs.

Boasting less bitter notes and more fruit and floral flavours, gin liqueurs are touted as an ‘easy-to-drink’ alternative to London dry gin.

With an ABV of around 20% as opposed to the usual 37.5%, gin liqueurs are considerably lighter in alcohol. They are typically mixed with soda or sparkling wine as opposed to the usual tonic, however, they can also be sipped straight over ice.

So, where can we try this ginnovation? Greenall’s Gin has just released two gin liqueurs in Australia – a Green Apple and Hibiscus Liqueur and a Blood Orange, Fig & Ginger Liqueur – with flavours perfectly matched to the cooler months of the year.

The apple gin liqueur pairs crisp green apple flavours with the sweet-sour tanginess of hibiscus along with warm earthy notes and hints of mature citrus. As for the blood orange gin liqueur, expect intense blood orange citrus flavours with warm gingery fruit spice.

Greenall’s master distiller Joanne Moore said: “It was important to me that with these new Greenall’s Gin Liqueurs, we gave consumers who are new to gin a great first experience to whet their appetite, giving them a taste of gin, but softening it with a lower ABV and appealing complementary flavours.”

Greenall’s Green Apple and Hibiscus Liqueur and Blood Orange, Fig & Ginger Liqueur are available to purchase from Dan Murphy’s for $33.99 for a 500ml bottle.
