Get Outta My Way.
Kylie Minogue has just released another smash hit (and we’re not talking about Disco, although that’s pretty great, too). After its sell-out success in the UK, Kylie has launched her new wine label, Kylie Minogue Wines, into Australia.
The first bottle to hit our shores is the Signature Rosé, a pale pink vin de France made from a blend of Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the sun-drenched Languedoc region in the south of France.
The wine is described as light and refreshing with aromas of summer berries and white blossom with a fruity, crisp finish.
“It’s beautiful, it’s pretty, it’s summer in a bottle,” Kylie Minogue tells delicious.
“It goes with so many things. On the weekend we had it with scallops cooked in butter and capers… it was just mmm!”
“My dream pairing would be salt-baked sea bass with fennel salad – it’s a very ‘South of France’ dish,” she adds.

As one might expect from a global style icon, the pale pink tipple comes packaged in a striking bottle with a unique curve shape, engraved label, and bespoke pearlescent capsule.
“I love the bottle, There’s often this [gasp] of excitement when it comes out of the fridge,” she says.
The rosé is the first in her Signature range, which also includes a Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot. “I call them the kids. I love them all but I think the rosé will always be my favourite as it was the first one, and where it all began.”
Not one to rest on her laurels, Kylie will follow up her debut hits with two new wines, and this time they will be grown and produced in Australia.
The two new additions include a Margaret River Chardonnay with acclaimed local producer Howard Park, and a cool-climate Yarra Valley Pinot Noir with De Bortoli.

“I am super excited to be able to add two Australian wines to the range,” Kylie says. “The Chardonnay is finalised, I have tasted that and it just needs to settle a tiny bit more, the Pinot Noir is currently in development.”
Kylie discovered Howard Park, a family-run winery from Western Australia, through Benchmark Drinks, the UK distributor of Kylie Minogue Wines. “One day they dropped off a few bottles of wine from other brands that they distribute for, and one was for Howard Park,” she says.
“Next time I saw [Paul Schaafsma, the Managing Director of Benchmark Drinks] I said oh my god! That Chardonnay is beautiful! Do you think they would like to do a wine with me?”
Within 48 hours, Kylie received a video message from Jeff Burch, the owner of Howard Park wines saying ‘g’day’ and ‘yep, we’d be up for it’.
“It was so sweet, I nearly cried.”
So, what’s next for the princess of pop? A sparkling wine, of course. “We’re thinking bubbles for the next one, which makes perfect sense to me.”
The Kylie Minogue Signature Rosé is currently available at leading liquor outlets across Australia for RRP $25. For more details, head to: kylieminoguewines.com
