Plus, it'll house Enmore's smallest pub.

The team behind Sydney favourites, Earl’s Juke Joint, Jacoby’s and the Cliff Dive have opened a new venue at the former Hi-Way location on Enmore Road. The new party palace is home to a live performance space and “Enmore’s smallest pub.”

According to co-owner, Pasan Wijesena, the new bar is inspired by classic golden era cocktail lounges from the US (and closer to home). “The love child of Hotel Chelsea lobby bar and bar Lubitsch in West Hollywood. A tip of the hat to the Trocadero which was a Newtown venue in the 1930s.”

Live performance are the focus of the Trocadero Room,  hosting live music, comedy and cult movie screenings, taking advantage of Enmore Road’s special entertainment precinct designation.

A small pub front bar will go by the name of the Magpie and will take its cues from Australiana sports bars, where you’ll be able to down local beers and tasty snacks all day before catching a gig when the sun goes down.

The performance space, dubbed, the Trocadero Room, pays homage to the north King Street venue which once housed an ice-skating rink, a movie theatre, and a meeting space for war widows before being converted into a row of terraces.

The Trocadero Room is now open. The Magpie is set to swoop in early 2024 at 156 Enmore Road, Enmore. For more details, follow @trocaderoroom.
