And it’ll take your espresso martinis to the next level.
They were the first Australian distillery to give coffee liqueur the craft treatment, now Mr Black returns, this time with a single origin release.
The first in the Mr Black new single origin series is made from ‘honey’ processed Caturra Arabica beans, sourced from Colombia.
“Our Single Origin allows us an opportunity to celebrate the terroir of top coffee growing regions from around the world,” says Mr Black founder, Tom Baker.
“Comparing a Colombian coffee to a Kenyan coffee is like comparing bourbon and scotch or Pinot and Shiraz. There’s a world of coffee out there to explore.”

So, how does it differ to the original Mr Blacks? The new brew is said to be lighter in body, with delicate notes of figs, chocolate, honey, maple and dark berries, and a hint of natural coffee funk.
“Think of it as specific, rather than better. Like single malt vs blended or single vineyard vs field blend. Each individual terroir has something to say.”
While your first impulse may be to add a shot of vodka and shake up an espresso martini, Baker recommends trying it straight first.
“To fully appreciate this Origin, I’d encourage people to try it chilled in a wine glass with a rock of ice.”
Mr Black Single Origin – Colombia will be available to purchase from November, 11 from mrblack.co where it will sell for $75 for a 700ml bottle.
