Brace yourself, Japan’s super-charged shochu bevvy Strong Zero is launching Down Under

Double Lemon

Stay strong Australia.

If you’ve visited Japan but don’t really remember it too well, chances are you discovered the country’s number one premix, Strong Zero, while you were there.

The super-popular RTD is famous for its strong taste and even stronger ABV, not to mention, the fact that you can buy them 24 hours-a-day from vending machines across Japan.

And now for the first time, you’ll be able to get your Strong fix in Australia. This winter, Suntory is set to launch -196 Double Lemon, the newest member of the Strong family into Aussie bottle stores.

While they have dialled down the alcohol content somewhat (from a super strong 9% to a still pretty strong 6%) the new tipple will double down on the intense lemony flavour. Each drink is made from a whole frozen lemon, which is pulverised and soaked in alcohol – think vodka lime soda on steroids.

Strong

“Aussies who’ve travelled to Japan show a genuine love for one of the country’s biggest and fastest-growing brands -196ºC Strong Zero, and we’re excited to launch our very own -196 Double Lemon in Australia. We want Aussies to feel like they’re enjoying the real deal straight from the fridge of a convenience store in Tokyo. Unmistakably Japanese, we can’t wait for this next-level refreshment to hit Aussie shelves,” says Beam Suntory Director of Innovation, Kay Oh.

-196 Double Lemon is available at independent retailers now and will be rolling out at leading liquor stores soon for $22 for a four-pack and $47 for a ten-pack.
