Apple pie in a glass? Yes please!
Marrickville-based Mobius Distilling Co. has just launched Moreau Apple Pie Liqueur, a sweet and warmly spiced spirit for those times when you can’t decide between a cocktail or dessert.
The liqueur is made from local apples sourced from the family-owned Bellevue Orchard in Victoria, with each bottle containing 12 cold-pressed apples each. It also contains vanilla for a hint of ice cream, and cinnamon for that flaky pie crust flavour.
This sophisticated tipple reveals luscious sweetness in the nose, balanced by savoury spices and fresh fruit with hints of warm pastry.
The spirit can be enjoyed hot or cold, and also makes an excellent base for cocktails. Add a scoop of ice cream for an applegato, or fresh blueberries and lemon juice for a blueberry pie sour. You can also use it to make this caramel and apple toddy.

Head Distiller Philip Crossley comments: “Our goal was to create a delicious drink that people can have some fun with. As the year continues to throw up challenges for all of us, the warming flavour of the Moreau Apple Pie Liqueur is exactly the sort of comfort to be appreciated in these tumultuous times.”
Moreau Apple Pie Liqueur has already been awarded a gold medal at the London Spirits Competition 2020 and the Australian International Spirits Competition 2020. It’s priced at $75 per 700ml bottle or $30 per 200ml bottle from mobiusdistilling.co.
