Tim Tam beer, pizza beer, bubble tea beer, you name it - they brewed it.
Australia’s annual beer-swilling festival, the Great Australasian Beer Spec-tap-ular, has returned for another round with over 120 new beers making their festival debu this year (just please, pace yourself).
The annual beer fest will start in Melbourne on May 20-21, before heading to Sydney June 2-3, then over to Brisbane on June 10.
Every year, GABS encourages breweries to make an exclusive “festival beer” to showcase at the event, and this year has produced some real doozies.

Basically, if it can be brewed, it has been brewed, with some very out-there entrants, including a Tim Tam beer, red frogs beer and even a pizza beer.
Beyond the sampling and swilling, there will be plenty of games and activities you can get involved it, including Mick Fanning’s “Tins of Glory”, Wheel of Pourtune and a Wayne’s World-inspired Air Guitar tournament. They may not sound like good ideas right now, but trust us, you’ll get there.
Speaking of, Shout Brewery will also be bringing in a barber to cut mullets on the day, with the best mullet winning a case of their Mullet Beer (and a whole lot of respect from a bunch of strangers).

And just in case you needed another reason to go, here’s a taste of some of the bizarre brews that you can try on the day.
- Deeds Brewing’s Peanut Butter Brownie Imperial Stout
- Coldstream Brewery’s Cherry-Fruited Braggot
- The Zythologist’s Molecular Bubble Tea IPA
- Bad Shepherd Brewing Co’s Barrel Aged Rum Double Choc Brown Ale
- Good Land Brewing Co’s Bananarama Pina Colada Sour
- Bright Brewery’s Drinkin’ Donuts Imperial Jam Donut Golden Ale
- King River Brewing Sticke Coffee Kolsch
- Blackmans Brewing Red Frog Raspberry Dark Lager
- Frexi Brewing Pizza Beer
