If there ever was a breakfast beer, this is it.

Feeling a bit groggy this morning? That might be because you sculled a six-pack of Baked Pastry Stout, the new ‘breakfast beer’ by Mountain Culture Beer Co.

The limited-edition brew is made using 250 freshly baked croissants, supplied by local pastry legends Black Cockatoo Bakery. The tipple is said to taste roasty and toasty with an indulgent twist of cinnamon and caramel sweetness.

While it may taste of coffee and croissants, it’s important to remember it’s still a 10.5% Russian Imperial Stout, says Mountain Culture Beer co-founder DJ McCready, who prefers to have one for dessert.

“When we add things to beer, we don’t want it to overwhelm what the style of beer is, we just want the addition to enhance it and add a nice accent to the beer,” he said.

Bakery Pastry Stout is priced at $66 for a 4 pack or $240 for a case of 16 from mountainculturebeerco.com.
