These Sydney venues are offering half price drinks

In an effort to give the city's nightlife a much-needed boost.

Merivale may be one of the country’s biggest hospitality groups but it also seems to be one of its biggest champions. In an effort to give Sydney’s dwindling nightlife a much needed boost, the group has decreed that it will be offering nearly 50 percent off drinks at all of its many venues for the month of June. From 5-7pm every day, Sydneysiders will be able to receive 49 percent off (the maximum discount legally allowed) on cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and champagne.

The promotion has been dubbed the ‘bottoms up’ special and has been deemed by Merivale’s Justin Hemmes as a way to thank Sydney for its support, and get people out and about during the typically quiet midweek. At 5pm each day Dolly Parton’s Nine to Five or James Brown’s I Feel Good will be played to mark the start of an extended happy hour. The offer includes any drink up the $200 (which means you are free to reach for that normally out-of-range bottle of Champagne).
