This new drink will get you through the end of Dry July

Seedlip Grove 42

The must-have spirit for the teetotaller.

Teetotallers take note (or fans of dry july for that matter) for Seedlip is back with another offering in tow. The non-alcoholic spirit brand has already garnered acclaim around the world as a cocktail option for the non-drinker and is already stocked in some of the world’s best bars as a result of its blossoming popularity.

Grove 42 is the third spirit to join the company’s two existing flavours; Seedlip Garden (a herb-heavy drink made from six distillates including hand-picked peas) and Seedlip Spice (based around Jamaican allspice berries and American oak). The spirit is again the creation of Seedlip founder and British botany enthusiast Ben Branson, who utilises traditional distilling techniques to create each drink.

“Very excited to be launching Seedlip Grove 42,” says Branson. “It marks an important focus on both the fascinating world of the Citrus genus as well as soda as a signature mixer allowing Grove to truly shine in a completely sugar and alcohol free cocktail.’”

Taste-wise, Grove 42 is a self-proclaimed “celebration of the orange; an adult, citrus blend of copper-pot distillates including Bitter Orange, Mandarin, Blood Orange, Lemongrass, Ginger & Lemon.” It’s suggested that the zesty drink is best paired with a simple soda (and a twist of orange to garnish if you are feeling fancy). As for it’s name, the number reflects Seedlip’s penchant for history; 1542 was the year the word orange was first used to describe the colour as well as the fruit.

Whether its historical nature or non-alcoholic tendencies appeal to you best, Grove 42 is available for pre-order online now. While it is not yet available in Australia at the moment, the drink is expected to make its debut before the year is out.
