Become a tipple expert thanks to delicious' own drinker-in-chief.
Is your New Year’s resolution to get smart when it comes to wine? Perhaps you wish to absorb some of the skills and knowledge of a sommelier, without actually becoming one, or you simply wish to be more aware about your grape juice of choice. Whatever the case, becoming more of a wine expert is a heck of a lot easier thanks to a new series of workshops held by drinks critic Mike Bennie.
The man is well regarded when it comes to booze of all kinds. The regular delicious. contributor is a lauded drinks writer, the owner of P&V Merchants in Sydney’s Newtown and one of the founders of former wine festival Rootstock. The self-proclaimed drinker-in-chief now hopes to share some of his (and his friends’) accumulated knowledge in a series of masterclasses held at P&V’s Inner West outpost.
For around $60 per class, workshops will see small groups of 20 convene to discuss, taste, and learn about a particular wine type. There’s something for everyone, with current options including a Sake Masterclass on January 16 Introduction to Natural Wine on January 19, Advanced Natural Wine on January 23, Orange Wine on February 2, and Jura Masterclass on January 30.
