Perhaps inspired by fellow actor George Clooney’s success in the beverage business, Ryan Reynolds has made his own move into spirits with the purchase of Aviation Gin. The Deadpool actor is now not only the face of the American spirits company, but part-owner.

“If you think all gin tastes the same, you’d be mistaken,” Ryan commented in a statement, “Aviation is in a completely different league and I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of the company.”

Owned by Davos Brands, Aviation was founded in America’s Oregon and is considered to be quite the tipple. Produced at a craft distillery in Portland, the gin is a combination of cardamom, coriander, French lavender, aniseed, sarsaparilla, juniper, and two kinds of orange peel. It’s said to be far removed from the typical gin taste, Aviation is rather a softer American-style take on the spirit.

Little is known of what Reynolds’ responsibilities within the company will entail, but he has already assured fans and investors alike that they need not be worried, commenting: “I don’t know whose idea it was to allow me into the gin business, but I can assure you, there are smarter, more reasonable people in charge.”
