Ditch the smoothie bowls (about time) and drink your nutrient-rich super foods instead, writes Alyssa Mittiga.

We’re all familiar with the #cleaneating trend sweeping Australian shores. Wellbeing has well and truly infiltrated our diets, from mains to drinks it seems, as proven by this latest drink produced by our neighbours in the land of the long white cloud.

CHIA is the all new natural beverage to hit Australian shelves, made in New Zealand from hydrated chia seeds and natural juices. You could call it a natural bubble-tea, as the small chia seeds provide a pop of texture to the thick super juice, served in a chic glass bottle. The jelly-like drink packs a nutrient-dense punch, full of omega 3, magnesium, calcium, iron and potassium.

What is in the drink however, is not as impressive as what is left out; no refined sugar, no animal products and no gluten. The sweet flavour proves that Mother Nature can taste just as good as her unnatural and processed counterpart.

There are six flavours to choose from in the current CHIA range including coconut water and mango, blackcurrant or feijoa and pink guava. Alternatively, you can decide to throw clean drinking out the window entirely, and mix things up by adding a spirit of your choice. #winning. We’ll leave the decision up to you.
