There's more than one way to celebrate International Coffee Day.
Australian pastry chef Anna Polyviou has teamed up with award-winning Singaporean distillery Tanglin to create a new Honey Bean Coffee Gin Liqueur.
Coffee was selected as the main ingredient for the new gin tipple, as it forms such a big part of both Australian and Singaporean culture. The limited-edition liqueur uses coffee beans from both countries, as well as Singaporean honey for sweetness and roasted Aussie macadamia nuts for a smooth taste and creamy texture.
The new gin liqueur can be sipped straight or shaken with ice to create what Anna calls an ‘Easy Beezy Espresso Martini’.
In true Anna Polyviou form, she’s also used the liqueur to create a range of seriously impressive desserts, including a boozy gin-misu, made from gin liqueur soaked sponge layered with mascarpone, chocolate shavings and caramel ice cream.

“We know many Australians are waiting to travel overseas, and with borders still closed, we think it’s really important to bring a slice of Singapore to Australians so that we continue to inspire them about Singapore until they can visit again,” said Stephanie Yong from the Singapore Tourism Board.
“This gin is the product of a year’s worth of hard work by Anna and Tanglin and we’re delighted with the result – a specially crafted gin that celebrates the close bond between both countries and their unique flavours.”
Tanglin’s Honey Bean Coffee Gin Liqueur is available in a limited run of only 250 bottles from Dan Murphy’s online and selected stockists for $59 each.
