And is set to celebrate with a special new launch.
November 1st not only marked the start of the month (and for some the festive season) but the 130th birthday for perhaps one of Australia’s biggest success stories. Bundaberg Rum has now been producing the ‘sugarcane champagne’ for more than a century, the Queensland icon an ever-present tipple at each and every great sporting occasion.
Of course, the dark spirit has achieved far more than that, having been named in previous years the world’s best rum among its 144 awards in total. Not bad for one of the world’s few single-estate distilleries which sources all its ingredients locally (which is evidently around Bundy).
But back to the birthday.
In celebration of reaching this major milestone, Bundaberg Rum is set to launch a special collection of (surprise, surprise) rum. A Small Batch Spiced release is en route, a new collection to honour 13 decades of romancing the nation with the spirit. The drink has obviously been created in an ode to the special occasion, a rum aged in American oak barrels before being infused with the notes of 13 different spices, fruit nectars and citrus zest.

“Small Batch Spiced is one of our best rums yet,” says Bundaberg Rum Marketing Manager Karl Roche. “It celebrates 13 decades of craftsmanship by combining 13 specially selected spices with locally made, world-class premium rum. Bundaberg Rum is an Australian born craft distiller, and we’re so excited to release new Small Batch Spiced as a thank you to our fans in Australia for their support over the years.”
This limited edition drop is the fourth release in the Bundaberg Rum Small Batch series. Rum fans will be able to find their own bottle at the Bundaberg Distillery Store and online for $69.95.
