Sample local spirits aplenty in Flinders Lane this February.
Andrew McConnell is evidently a gin fan, for one of the Melbourne restaurateur’s eateries is just about to play host to the city’s latest gin festival.
The Spirit Fair is just around the corner, a foray into gin and whisk(e)y that will see some of the finest Victorian spirit makers share their creations with the general public. Taking place on February 23, from 12.00-4.00pm, Spirit Fair will be held in Cumulus Up., upstairs from Cumulus Inc. on Flinders Lane.
The showcase has invited the state’s best in gin to indulge in a show-and-tell of their artisanal wares. The line-up currently includes Kilderkin Distillery (Ballarat), Melbourne Moonshine (South Melbourne), Starward (Melbourne), Timboon (Western Victoria), Husk (Northern New South Wales), Patient Wolf (Melbourne), Hippocampus (Melbourne), and Animus (Kyneton).
Spirit Fair is charging $45 for entry, which includes access to eight producers and their products for tasting, welcome cocktail of choice and a food item of your choice. Food from the Cumulus Up kitchen (including the slow-roast suckling pig roll and the famed confit duck waffle) will also be available for post-tasting hunger pangs.
Tickets to Spirit Fair can be purchased through Eventbrite or cumulusup.com.au.
