And it will be called the creative 'Teslaquila'.
Not content with the tech space, Elon Musk has turned his attention to the realm of alcohol with plans to launch his own label. The billionaire businessman’s company Tesla recently filed a trademark for Teslaquila, its own brand of (you guessed it) tequila.
The application was filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in recent days and surrounds a trademark for “distilled agave liquor” and “distilled blue agave liquor,” reports CNBC.
The concept of Teslaquila began as an April Fool’s joke. Musk tweeted Tesla was bankrupt, and his body was found “passed out against a Tesla Model 3, surrounded by ‘Teslaquila’ bottles.” His somewhat dark joke has become reality however, with Musk recently posting a photo to Twitter of the proposed spirit.
At present details regarding the launch of Teslaquila remain under wraps. Tesla has only filed an ‘intent to use’ at present which means that a tequila is not confirmed, but more a potential. But with Musk already brainstorming branding, it looks like a Tesla shot is only a matter of time.
