It’s the gin for beer drinkers.
For the indecisive orderer that can’t decide between a pint of beer or a pour of spirits, Four Pillars are set to release a limited number of their stout-infused Sticky Carpet Gin tomorrow.
The beer-flavoured bevvie takes inspiration from the newly relaunched Hotel Esplanade (aka The Espy) as well as all the old school pubs out there, with their sticky carpets, blaring TVs and Bundy-filled back bars.
While sticky carpet didn’t actually make it into the bottle, what did was a heavy dose of roasted dark stout from Watt’s River in the Yarra Valley, which lends a malty, toasted profile to the gin.
The beer flavours are driven home with the addition of roasted barley and Cascade hops, which are intermingled with fresh, spicy botanicals like juniper, coriander, green pepper, honey, lemon, cassia and ginger.
If this sounds like your kind of beer gin hybrid, head to the website or Healesville Distillery this Saturday, September 14, where you can find a strictly limited number of bottles for sale at $85 each, with a limit of two per customer. For more details, head to fourpillarsgin.com.au.
