And it’s now available in Australia.

Singapore may be better known for its Tiger Beer but if you get the chance, it’s the local gin that really deserves tasting.

Brewed by the nation’s first gin distillery and one of only three in the country, Tanglin produces two signature spirits, an orchid gin and a mandarin chilli gin, both of which are now available to purchase in Australia.

The Orchid Gin reveals a traditional botanic profile of juniper, liquorice, and coriander, which is given a South-East Asian kick by way of java pepper and green mango powder. In tribute to Singapore’s national flower, dendrobium orchid is added for a hint of creamy vanilla sweetness.

This mix of eastern and western flavours continues in Tanglin’s Mandarin Chilli Gin, which dropped late last year. Made from 9 botanicals, the Chinese-inspired gin incorporates Kampot black pepper, kaffir lime leaves, mandarin peel, chilli and young ginger to produce a spicy, citrussy gin, which ends with a chilli tingle on the lips.

Despite its recent launch, Tanglin’s orchid gin has already gone on to pick up several major awards, including silver at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, 2018 and silver again at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, 2019.

Tanglin’s Orchid Gin and Mandarin Chilli Gin are priced at $89 per 700ml bottle and are available to purchase from Dan Murphy’s.
