What we're currantly drinking.
Move over pink gin, Tanqueray has just launched a striking violet tipple flavoured with French blackcurrants, vanilla and black orchid.
Inspired by founder Charles Tanqueray’s travels to France in the 1840s, the new gin is said to be rich and fruity, offering subtle sweet notes from the vanilla with exotic floral tones on the finish.
Tanqueray’s Blackcurrant Royale can be used to create a G&T, garnished with blackcurrants, blackberries, and a slice of lemon. It can also be mixed with prosecco to create a berry spritz that’s somewhere between a French 45 and Kir Royale.
Tanqueray’s Head of Europe Gin Innovation, Janine Blakeway-Ely, said: “The idea behind Tanqueray Blackcurrant Royale was born from combining the elegant world of Tanqueray with a unique and differentiated offering.”
“We know gin lovers are looking for more than just flavour, so we delved into Charles Tanqueray’s history. Inspired by Tanqueray’s heritage and travels we layered sumptuous and mysterious flavours to create this delicious gin, best served with tonic or in a coupette with prosecco. It’s a gin like no other.”
Tanqueray Blackcurrant Royale is currently available to purchase from leading liquor retailers for $66 for a 700ml bottle.
