Do you love gin? There’s a new festival for that

Gin Sanity

As if you needed another excuse to indulge in a g&t.

Australia’s love affair with gin isn’t just restricted to the big smoke of Sydney. The nation’s interest in juniper juice has definitely reached Queensland where a celebration of the drink will take place in festival form. Happening on Saturday February 17 is the Gin Sanity Festival.

The event will take Fortitude Valley’s Bakery Lane hostage from 2.00-9.00pm on the day. The Ann Street space will be taken over by Gerard’s owners Moubment Group, in conjunction with Toowoomba’s Cooreyosity Group. A select range of Australian and international gins will be present, with each brand encouraged to present their take on the classic gin and tonic, alongside a signature cocktail of their choice. At present Sipsmith Distillery, Whitley Neill, Archie Rose, and The Botanist that will be taking part on the day, with more brands to be announced closer to the date.

To accompany your sipping there will be live music aplenty. The line-up has been promised to be full of Brisbane bands, with food and gin masterclasses also interwoven into the day’s entertainment offerings.

The Gin Sanity Festival is $15 entry, with tickets available online.
